How do you make a color picker for a website?

I need to create a color slider for a website. The best example I can find is an automobile color picker. I need to have one main image, then underneath have 10 or so swatches of color that when you mouse over the colors, it changes the color of the main pic. I've been searching for the code, but no luck. I know it can be done with javascript. HELP?
