How does someone with a Monty Python sense of humor live with a dry toast serious person & still feel happy?

I actually find his lack of humor amusing and endearing, I wouldn't be asking if there weren't a problem. He has no humor, I don't complain, but whenever I am humorous, he shows his disapproval and tries to make me feel bad for being silly. Can't he just roll his eyes & shut up? I wouldn't mind him not getting it (which I am sure would be a problem for others) if he would just be quiet & let ME BE ME!!! There would be no issue....why can I accept his lack of humor while he having no grand opinions otherwise, will take time out of his workaholic day to basically tell me he finds me unattractive because I laugh at life's absurdities. Part of me finds this funny too, except I have to live with him, sheesh!
